100% #51: HiQ Ace

Hey there!

A free, quick and easy 100% game? I had to get this one.

What is the game all about?

There’s not much to say about this game. HiQ Ace is a puzzle game so you’re putting together some pieces to complete puzzles. ;-)

What about trophies?

There are only 5 trophies. One trophy for completing each a puzzle of each difficulty (easy, medium and hard) within a few minutes, one for fitting 1000 pieces in place and one for using 100 power-ups. Everything is completely easy and can be done within 1 hour. There’s currently no guide available but trust me, you won’t need one.

Where can I get this game?

HiQ Ace is available for free in the EU and NA store.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?

Definitively yes! The game is for free and can be completed within an hour without much effort. Who doesn’t want to get some free trophies?

Platinum #215-217: Semispheres (AS Vita, EU Vita, AS PS4)

Hey there!

Another 3 Platinum Trophies which I could unlock within short time. Playing games back to back really pays off.

What is the game all about?

Semispheres is a puzzle game. The screen is split into 2 halves (left and right) showing the same level. In each side, you have a sphere and it’s your task to move this sphere to the exit. For this, you control the left sphere (orange) with the left stick and the right sphere (blue) with the right stick. This sounds simple but it very difficult. The 2 halves have the same layout but different obstacles / enemies and sometimes the orange and blue sphere switch sides. I had a lot of brainfucks while playing this game.

What about trophies?

There are 13 chapters and completing each of them will reward you with a trophy. For the last trophy, you must complete all 13 chapter in one sitting within 35:00 minutes. This is by far the hardest trophy as there is no way to stop or reset the timer. On my first stack, it took me 6 trial runs to learn all the puzzles and its solutions. On my 7^thrun I could beat the game in around 33 minutes. I immediately played the other 2 versions and could complete each of them on my first run.

I highly recommend to watch below video by IBadDriverI a few times before starting the game. Furthermore, you should do 2-3 trial runs to see which puzzles give you troubles and watch the solutions again. As soon as you’ve beaten the game once, immediately play the other versions – if you plan to play more than 1 version.

Where can I get this game?

Semispheres is available in every store but you need to be careful. Not every version has a Platinum Trophy as a few of them are only 100% games. The versions with a Platinum Trophy are AS Vita, EU Vita, NA/JP Vita and AS PS4.

If you’re living outside the Asian region, there’s still a way to get the Asian Vita version. For this you must buy the limited collector’s edition which is exclusively available at play-asia.com. There you can also buy digital PSN cards which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes, if needed.

There’s no need to buy the limited physical Asian PS4 version as you can download it from the HK store.

This means that you can unlock up to 3 Platinum Trophies with 1 game (EU or NA/JP Vita, AS Vita and AS PS4).

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?

Yes, but only if you plan to play more than 1 version. The first Platinum Trophy make take up to 6 hours but every other version can then be completed in around 30 minutes.

Philips DLP6006 11000mAh Power Bank Review

With 11000mAh of power under the hood is the Philips DLP6006 Power Bank worth your buck?

Ever since it set foot in India in 1993 Philips has been a brand that touched our lives in one way or the other through its ever growing lineup of consumer electronics, no matter how old we all are we've heard, seen or even used a Philips product at some point of our lives. Recently they've launched their current lineup of mobile accessories including data transfer cables, Bluetooth earpiece and powerbanks. While the other two are quite self explanatory the powerbanks are quite interesting as they not only come in capacities of 8000mAh to 13000mAh but are really well build and designed.

Thanks to Philips India I have one of these powerbanks today with us for review, we have the Philips DLP6006 11000mAh Power Bank.

Priced in at Rs 1,100 the Philips DLP6006 11000mAh Power Bank is second in position of the current Philips Powerbank lineups just after the 13000mAh model and is powered by a Lithium ion battery rated at 11000mAh with 5V input/output and 1A output each through the three USB charging ports that it comes quipped with for simultaneous charging of three USB powered devices. The powerbank also has a torch build in just in case required which is a welcome feature but on the other hand lacks fast charging technology which is quite disappointing.

What's in the Box!?

Philips DLP6006 11000mAh Power Bank comes in a sleek cardboard box with the product name and power rating clearly mentioned along with the product image and briefings about its functionality printed near the bottom.

Inside the box we get the powerbank resting inside a molded plastic casing with an instruction leaflet, the powerbank and a small white micro-USB cable for charging devices that support micro-USB cables.

A Closer Look

The Philips DLP6006 Power Bank is a beautiful gadget honing in white with a black screen which imparts elegance and style to the device even when not in use. The entire body is covered by a white leather sheet which is immaculately stitched at the edges near the areas where the black plastic body reveals itself. I really like the design and looks of this powerbank which should go well with the style of most of the users and won't make it look like a bland necessity but an edgy accessory.

The seven segment display LED is blue in color and displays the current battery percentage of the powerbank while charging. It lights up when a device is connected to the powerbank or you can simply press the power button below the display to view the current status.

While the right side is plain the left side houses the three USB ports through which the Philips DLP6006 Power Bank delivers power for charging devices. These are rated at 5V-1A and don't support fast charging which is some what expected at this price point & power capacity.

On the top end you can find the mico-USB port through which you can charge the power bank using an after market charger which are quite commonly available and right next to it is the torch which can be turned on long pressing the power button and can be turned off again by the same method.

Let's Charge things Up!

My unit came with a 75% charge on the battery right out of the box but yours might be having some another level. I discharged the battery fully to even out the playing field and took the power bank along with me for 15 days of near constant traveling to keep the review as accurate and close to real life scenarios as possible.

Charging the Power Bank

This is an area where I was on the brink of losing my temper! Using a 5V charger it took me over 20 hours to get the battery at full 100% from a fully drained state. this much time is just too much for charging a 11000mAh battery pack using a standard charger as mostly people don't have that much of time to charge their power banks before they move out again to continue their journey. If there is any major minus point on this power bank then it has to be its excruciatingly long charging time.

Charging other Devices

I charged a OnePlus 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 7 all at the same time and also one by one using the Philips DLP6006 Power Bank using the stock cables that these cell phones come with since neither of them support the micro-USB cable that this power bank comes with. The charging time was obviously slow since the output on the Philips DLP6006 is only 1A so fast charging is not supported resulting in nearly double charging time for the OnePlus 5 and the iPhone 7 that are designed to utilize fast charging technology. I somehow didn't notice that much of a difference when it came to the iPhone5S as the charging time using the power bank was around 20 minutes more.

Overall the 11000mAh battery is good for charging or acting as a backup power source for latest devices or even charging them fully in acceptable time duration.

Overall feel and comfort

The Philips DLP6006 Power Bank is beautiful when it comes to aesthetics and looks with its smooth white leather finish and slip free design. However the power bank is a bit heavy weighing in at 1.7Kg which is courtesy to its Lithium ion Battery pack over the Lithium Polymer Battery Pack which tends to be heavier and bigger compared to the latter. So carrying the bank can be tough for a few people who like to hold their phone and power banks in the same hand white chatting, calling etc

Also the micro-USB cable that it comes bundled with is very short and can only be used if the cell phone has its charging port on the side and not on the bottom as then its impossible to even connect them and use the cell phone but if you just want to connect and leave the phone to charge on the table then the cable would do the job.

My Verdict

Philips India has done a decent job with the DLP6006 Power Bank both in terms of designing and functionality. Even though its a low cost power bank it doesn't look flimsy or bland rather its elegant and catchy which makes it look like an attractive accessory in its own right, quite suitable for people who value styling their gadgets. Technically the three USB ports which can work simultaneously is a great move and the battery level indicator is quite useful in certain situations. I personally loved the nifty torch light that it has since it saves me switching on my cell phone flash light in dark rooms or simply just to search for something in my carry bag!

It lacks fast charging and the charging time for gadgets is acceptable in most cases where you don't plan to charge something like the PSP or any other portable gadget that has a huge battery pack but and its a big but the charging time for its own self is just too much to tolerate! i mean over 20 hours to charge the bank itself even when it has a 11000mAh battery is by nay means or sense unacceptable.

A few weeks ago, I already unlocked the Platinum Trophy in the EU PS4 versions, which took me a lot of time. This I was smarter and made use of the Energy Balance Solver.


What is the game all about?

Energy Balance is a logical / mathematical game. You need bring given numbers in the correct order, so that they match with the sum at the end of each row and column. This is pretty easy in the first 2-3 levels but the difficulty increases dramatically. At the beginning, you can only play Normal mode. Beating all 12 levels in this mode will unlock Hardcore, and beating this will unlock Square. Basically, all modes are the same but the puzzles will be harder.


What about trophies?

All of its trophies are “story related”, which means that there’s a trophy for beating each of the 20 levels and the Platinum Trophy. Beating the levels on your own can take a while as some levels can be a real pain in the ass. Therefore, I highly recommend to make use of energybalancesolver.com. This tool helped me a lot and each game took me only 3-4 hours. Without this solver, I needed 8-10 hours.

Where can I get this game?

Energy Balance is available in the EU and NA store and each version has its own stack (EU PS4 EU Vita, NA PS4, NA Vita). This means that you can unlock up to 3 Platinum Trophies (depending on your region) with this game. Sadly, the game isn’t cross-buy.

Game Review : Mafia III

Malam minggu tidak main game, sambil nunggu beta Monster Hunter World, mending nulis dikit aja tentang pengalaman memainkan game Mafia III di PS4.

Mafia III merupakan game dengan genre action-adventure open world yang dipublish oleh 2K games, 2K games tentunya sudah tidak asing lagi di telinga kita, game-game seperti NBA2K atau WWE2K yang selalu di release setiap tahunnya, dan memiliki fan base sendiri.

Mafia III bertemakan tentang cerita kehidupan dunia Mafia pada tahun 1968, kota yang diambil adalah New Bordeaux atau pencerminan dari kota New Orleans, Tokoh protagonist bernama Lincoln Clay yakni seorang yatim piatu yang tumbuh dewasa di panti asuhan dan merupakan ex veteran perang vietnam.

Game ini sebenarnya sudah lama release, Oktober 2016, namun saat awal release nya sangat banyak sekali bug yang sangat mengganggu, dengan seiring nya waktu banyak patch yang dikeluarkan untuk menyempurnakan game ini sehingga, saat saya mainkan dengan update terbaru, saya rasa cukup stabil gamenya. Adanya DLC ganti-ganti baju membuat game ini ya sedikit tidak membosankan.

Dari segi Grafis, game ini bisa di bilang tidak terlalu mencolok aliasa biasa aja, Siklus siang dan malam dan tema yang hampir sama seperti game GTA5, dimana kita harus menyelesaikan misi-misi yang dibagi menjadi misi utama dan sub misi, mencuri mobil - mobil mewah, upgrade sanjata dan terkadang membuat rusuh lalu di kejar - kejar polisi.

Sory dari game saya bilang cukup bagus, Tema sindikat organisasi kriminal Mafia saya rasa cukup kental dan tidak terasa saya masuk ke dunia dari game ini, namun ending hampir bisa ditebak seperti apa, namun yang dilihat adalah proses kita menuju ending tersebut. Karakter - karakter pendukung lainnya ya cukup lumayan ikut andil dalam proses dari game ini dari awal sampai akhir, karakter - karakter ini juga disebutkan back story nya dan memiliki motivasi yang kuat untuk balas dendam. Tama Sexs, Drug, Racism, judi, Bunuh membunuh, saling menghianati, kepercayaan dan semua yang bertemakan kejahatan ada pada game ini, maka dari itu game ini sangat tidak cocok untuk anak dibawah umur.

Tema open world yang diusung saya rasa juga terlalu hambar, banyak spot kosong, yang paling parah dari game ini adalah game ini sangat repetitif, alias mengulang-ulang itu-itu saja, awal - awal misi sebenarnya sudah cukup bagus sekali, saat misi utama kita dibawa ke sebuah tempat-tempat khusus yang sengaja di desain untuk misi tersebut, namun semakin ke tengah game ini menjadi sangat-sangat hambar sekali, dan hanya diulang-ulang, dimana kita harus satu dua kali mengunjungi sebuah tempat hanya untuk menyelesaikan misi utama, yap diulang-ulang tarus dan gitu-gitu aja. Ada lagi yang parah, rasanya sebagian besar waktu yang saya habiskan untuk memainkan game ini ada di naik mobil dan menuju sebuah tujuan yang jaraknya jauh sekali dari pojok map ke pojok yang lain ,dan hal ini dilakukan berkali-kali yang mana tentunya kita akan merasa bosan, saat kita sudah memahami mekanik dari game ini, dan tidak ada yang baru lagi saat kita sudah berada di 1/2 dari game ini. Saya paham tujuan developer game ini semua hal di atas untuk memanjang - memanjangkan waktu gameplay dari game ini, karena sebenarnya game ini pendek.

Salah satu nilai plus dari game ini adalah dari soundtrack, saat kita naik mobil, ada siaran radio dan isinya lagu-lagu jazz tahun 60-70an dan rata-rata lagunya enak-enak sampai - sampai saya mendownload lagu - lagunya via spotify dan mendengarkannya berulang ulang.

Jadi untuk teman-teman yang suka dengan game jenis open world ala GTA, dengan story heavy saya rasa game ini ya lumayan cocok, cuma ya itu kembali ke minus sebuah game yang membosankan, saya menamatkan game ini 3x, jadi tau sekali setiap detail misi-misi nya, proses tamat pertama memakan waktu sekitar 30 jam, dengan main slow, menikmati dunia Mafia III ini, yang kedua dan ke tiga cuma sekitar 10-15 jam saja, mengejar misi-misi utama, karena game ini memiliki beberapa ending yang bisa kita pilih di akhir cerita, cara kita bermain dan daerah yang kita kuasai dan serahkan ke anak buah kita akan berpengaruh ke ending dari game ini.

Platinum #210-212: Squareboy vs Bullies (EU PS4, NA PS4, EU Vita)

Hey there!

A short and easy game with a lot of stacks? That’s exactly what I like.

What is the game all about?

Squareboy vs Bullies is a typical Beat ‘em Up – you must beat all enemies within one screen before you can move on. From time to time some enemies will drop weapons which you can pick up, allowing you to do more damage for a short amount of time. There’s also a story but in general the game is all about beating up enemies within the 14 levels. The controls are a little bit clunky and the game tents to crash often on the PS4 version, especially when you grab enemies. To avoid crashes it is best to attack your enemies with “dashes” and / or “drop-kicks”.

What about trophies?

The trophies in this game are really easy and you should get all of them within one playthrough. All you need to do is the check the move list, hit an enemy with every move and weapon, kill 300 enemies and beat the game. Squareboy vs Bullies is only available digitally via the PSN store. The EU version is cross-buy, which means that you get the PS4 and Vita version for the price of one. Surprisingly, the NA version isn’t cross-buy. If you need PSN cards, you can buy them here. There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes.

My Top 5 Games 2017

Hey there!

End of the year is coming and I thought I’ll give you a short overview of the 5 games I enjoyed most this year. I play a variety of games but most of them are indi games. So, this list will be pretty much different from any other mainstream “Games of the Year” lists which are filled with AAA games.

#5 Tachyon Project

The digital version of Tachyon Project has already been released in 2016 but as the physical version came out this year, I count it as a 2017 release.
Tachyon Project is a quick and easy Shoot ‘em Up, which I really enjoyed. The graphics are good and the soundtrack fits perfectly to the game. The game has only 10 levels but offers a variety of different enemies. The developers did a great job here. If you want to try this game, go for the PS4 version, which is way more fun than the Vita version.
You don’t have to worry much about the trophies. Most of them unlock naturally while progressing through the game. The clean-up / grinding stage won’t take that long. If you have any issues, check out the trophy guide on psnprofiles.com.
There are 4 digital stacks available (NA/EU PS4, NA/EU Vita, JP PS4, JP Vita) but these are only 100% games. There are also limited editions for PS4 and Vita exclusively available at play-asia.com. Each of these versions has a Platinum Trophy but you have to be quick, as every version is limited to 2000 pieces. #4 Steep – Winter Games Edition

Steep has originally been released in December 2016 but this month Ubisoft made a re-release including the base game and the Road to the Olypmics expansion. For those not familiar with Steep: The game is an awesome arcade snowboard / ski / wingsuit / parachute game which takes place in an open world. You find yourself on top of a mountain and it’s up to you what you do next. You can play challenges or simply explore the mountains with you snowboard, ski, wingsuit or parachute. Beating challenges will unlock further mountains to explore. The more you unlock, the harder the challenges will be.

The new Road to the Olympics expansion comes with 2 new areas (Korea and Japan) and with a new mode called “Become a legend”, in which you’re tasked to become an Olympic champion. You can also participate in any ski and snowboard related Olympic discipline.

The negative aspects of the game are that it requires a PS+ subscription and a permanent internet connection, as well as that the Winterfest and Extreme Pack DLC aren’t included and must be bought separately.

#3 FlatOut 4

FlatOut 4 is an awesome arcade racer where action is in the foreground. Winning is your ultimate goal and you can do everything you want to place first, even if it means to destroy your opponents. The game offers 2 different modes (career and stunt) in which you must win different type of events. There’s also an online mode, but sadly, this mode is pretty much dead. FlatOut 4 has a huge fun factor and an awesome graphic but its physics are a little bit clunky.

To unlock the Platinum Trophy, you need to win everything. There are also some online trophies you need to unlock. As online is nearly dead, you need a buddy. Please note that the game is region locked. You can only play against players from the same region as yours. I also need to mentioned that due to the latest patch the Platinum Trophy is unobtainable as “Jay will be proud” is glitched. If you have the physical version, you uninstall the latest patch to fix this issue. If you have the digital version, you’re screwed.

The game is available in digital form via the PSN store. There’s also a physical version available. It’s recommended to buy the physical version due to afore mentioned glitch.

#2 Thimbleweed Park

If you’re an old-school Point & Click fan like me, you’ll love this game. Thimbleweed Park has been developed by the masterminds behind Maniac Mansion and The Secret of Monkey Island. Directly after starting the game you’ll recognize that its heavily influenced by LucasArts games. The game has a nice story, an awesome retro-look and typical Point & Click puzzles.

The game offers 2 difficulties (casual and hard) and you must beat them both to unlock the Platinum Trophy. If you don’t want to miss any trophies, you can follow my (mostly) spoiler free trophy guide. If you’re struggling with hard mode, check out the videos by IBadDriverI. The first is a complete walkthrough and the second explains the “Specks of Dust” exploit.

Thimbleweed Park is only available via the PSN store – there’s no physical version available. It has 2 different stacks (EU + NA), which means that you can unlock 2 Platinum Trophies.

#1 The Sexy Brutale

The Sexy Brutale is definitively my game of the year. It’s a nice little indi game with an awesome graphic style and a very good story. You’re invited to a mask ball and it soon turns out that all of its visitors will be killed. It’s your task to prevent their deaths by solving puzzles before time runs out. Don’t worry if you run out of time. You’re trapped in a time warp and you’ll replay the same day over and over again. You’ll always have another chance.

After a few minutes of playing I already fell in love with this game. The characters, the look, everything has its own unique charm. Sadly, the game is very short. It only took me 6-8 hours to complete it. This is one of the few games where I’m hoping that it will get another stack somehow. I’d really love to play The Sexy Brutale once again.

The game isn’t very hard, most of the trophies are story related. But there are also a lot of collectibles you need to pick-up. These collectibles can’t be missed as you’ll have access to every room after beating the game. If you need help, you can follow my (mostly) spoiler free guide or my detailed walkthrough. Alternatively, you can also follow the video walkthroughs by IBadDriverI. With this, you should be able to complete the game in 4-5 hours.
